We cannot say enough about our amazing experience at Belvedere Hawthorne Nursery school. After growing up on Cove road and with my parents still living there, I knew it would be the perfect place for our three children to start their school experience. From the moment they entered the iconic yellow door they were met with love, empathy, compassion and patience.
The teachers bring a wealth of knowledge, creativity and fun to each and every day. The sense of community our family felt was immediate and we have wonderful friendships that still last today. We highly recommend BHNS if you are looking for a healthy and loving environment for your children. Our children have so many wonderful memories of their time at BNS. We absolutely love Belvedere-Hawthorne Nursery School. Though our children are now years past their time there, the enduring friendships and life skills they developed there are invaluable. There is truth in the saying, everything you need to know, you learn in preschool.

BHNS is a very special place and has helped me to form very strong friendships over the years. I am still VERY close with my classmates from BHNS as we all were lucky enough to grow together through the Reed Union School District. Mrs. Parker was my teacher then (which is incredible!!) and has an incredible patient way with children. My mom has told me that due to the strong community bond that BHNS provided when I attended, she was able to make her first friends when she moved to Tiburon (many of whom she is still close with).

I attended BHNS starting in 1986 and I am so fortunate that my children are able to continue this tradition now, as my son attends the MWF program and my daughter will also when she is 2 (she is 1 now). Forming bonds with parents at BHNS is so important and valuable as these people will (hopefully) be in our lives for a long time as our children raise through the Reed Union District together. My son comes home from school SO happy, stimulated and incredibly excited to learn and do more. The small classroom size coupled with the incredibly patient and smart teaching staff, along with the amazing outdoor playground for our kids to play together, is a dream come true for me. Knowing that I was given the same attention and love as my son is being provided, (now 30+ years later) is beyond special and knowing that my son is safe, happy and learning and growing every day is all a parent can ask for!

"BHNS is a very special place and has helped my family form strong bonds in the Belvedere-Tiburon community over the years. I attended Belvedere Nursery School in the early 1950’s, my siblings attended in the 1950’s and early 1960’s as well. My son continued this lovely tradition when he attended in the early 1980’s. Friendships I made as a toddler when I attended the school continue to this day.
